Raíces 7: Flamenco & Congas

Picture
Movimiento Pro Cultura (MPC) presents the seventh version of its renowned multicultural event "Raíces" (Roots). This presentation will involve three dance music companies with great reputations, which will present cultural traits determinants of Caribbean culture in terms of music and dance.

From Spain, the white motherland, Raíces will bring the Flamenco art, unique in the world, based on the sound of guitars, The box, the castanets, palms and heels. “Flamenco Dance Project” will be delivering this beautiful performance, which is one of the best flamenco dance companies in the world.

From Africa, the black motherland, the audience will enjoy the contagious energy loaded dance imposed by the African congas. And to delight us with the best representation of African music and dance, we'll bring you the best company of its kind worldwide: Universal African Dance and Drums Ensemble.

This powerful show will feature a distinctive cultural twist coming from our tropic, the fusion space that faced these two sources, which is heavily represented in the Caribbean rumba and salsa. This delicate detail will be in the legs and hips of "Rumba y Timbal Dance Company", the most electrifying champions of this genre.

This event will be held at the North Common Educational Center's Auditorium (former Lawrence High School), located at 255 Haverhill St., Lawrence MA. It will begin at 7:00 pm and will cost $ 20.00 p / p. Funds raised by this event will be dedicated to the scholarship program of the MPC. Tickets available at JQ Communications, 191 South Broadway, Lawrence, MA.
